The hotel is what you expect from a Marriott chain. The rooms were clean and parking abundant. Starbucks and other fast food places across the street. The breakfast is ok, can have better coffee. But, what makes this hotel great is the staff and management. I became friends with almost everyone that worked there. The value of this hotel is mostly in its people.

We stay here for work on a regular basis. After going to multiple hotels in the area the Fairfield has become our go too. After coming here for almost a year on a monthly basis, I can say we have never met one of their staff that was not polite and extremely helpful. This place is great.

Customer Service NEEDS improvement! Since when is flirting with the police officers a part of the job? I came to get a room, but walked back out because they were more important! Next time I come to Richmond, I'll stay elsewhere.

First off to start the only reason i gave 2 stars is because the employees were professional were great no issues there. The gym and pool were fine no issues. The room instantly smelled musty every time i walked in, i did not find the source of smell but likely mold somewhere. The entire time i was in this hotel the internet was inoperable which is sub-par for a business trip. All i know is I won’t be back and I’ll be informing my travel department to avoid this hotel at all cost.

Do not stay here - black mold issue and the response by hotel management was unprofessional! I noticed my room (218) smelled a little musty when I arrived this evening but thought it was due to the AC being off. Before going to bed I went to close the curtains and noticed the black mold spores on both sides next to the HVAC unit. The wall to the right has mold growth and the carpet is growing mushrooms. I called the front desk to request a new room. They called me back after speaking to the General Manager to let me know that they could refund my money if I wanted to leave but they had no available rooms at this property - this was around 11 PM. Of course I was not happy with being put out and not given an option to transfer to another Marriott property. I requested more options only to be given a list of local hotels in the area and their numbers for me to find a place myself. Completely unprofessional Marriott! An hour later I found my own hotel and some allergy medicine that I hope will alleviate the stuffy head and headache that I have now. This was our company’s hotel of choice but their response to not give me more assistance solidified that my coworkers and I will not return. Titanium Elite Member
